Auditions for Genres (Script Found Here) will be held:
March 24. Thursday at 6pm in PAC 180
March 28, Monday at 6pm in PAC 180 (Mostly for theater majors involved in productions this week)
Stay tuned for updates!
Genres is an exploration of film genres and how they affect what is essentially the same scene. The script rewrites the same short scene with notes on how each genre will affect the scene. Two actors will be needed to play the roles of Barry and Viggo. (All applicants considered, names/gender are immaterial to the scene.)
Filming will occur on Tuesdays (and possibly Thursdays) starting April 5.

Prepare to be a Zombie!!
Thank you for your interest in becoming a zombie for Zone Zero: Decampment!
In order for everything to go smoothly, we must setup standard protocol for all zombies. Doing so creates for a faster and more efficient film shoot that is worthy of your donated time and energy.
ALL zombies need to have the phone number of the Director, Executive Producer, and The Makeup artist. (Sam, Gerald, Ashley)
Sam--(254) 462-8047
Gerald--(713) 248-1013
Ashley--(281) 435-6026
Most of your questions should be answered by Ashley, so please call her first if you have any issues. She herself will direct any questions to Gerald or Sam if needed. The reason for this being that while Ashley takes care of makeup and zombies, Sam and Gerald are actually on location setting up for the scene and preparing with the actors.
PRE-ZOMBIE
1. It is best to shower the day before the shoot, not the day of. The oil that your hair produces overnight will help for "zombifying" it the next day.
2. Do not use any product in your hair after your shower. Again, the natural state will best be suited for zombie-ness.
3. Ladies, please no makeup when you come to the shoot. We will have to remove it before we put on the zombie makeup so its pointless to come with makeup. Save your beauty makeup for the wrap party!
4. It's best not to bring anything valuable such as jewlry and such...just saying.
WARDROBE
1. You will get dirty and bloody from head to toe, so consider this when you pick out your zombie outfit...
2. Please come in your zombie costume already. This saves us time. You may bring spare clothes to change into afterwards.
3. Long pants are preferred, but if you wear shorts or anything like that be preparred to have makeup on your legs.
4. There will be LOTS of movement, so please consider your footwear. Make sure its comfortable, and "save your toes"...
5. If you wear a hat to the shoot, (or anything you wear really) we will consider it free game for zombification. You have been warned.
ARRIVING FOR MAKEUP
1. Please do your best to show up on time. Also, please RSVP your status as a zombie before the day of shooting. We need an accurate count of zombies before we begin our makeup process.
2. There are only 2 makeup artists and many zombies. There will be down time for many of you. We will provide entertainment (TV, movies, etc.) during your waiting time.
3. Try to keep it down during the waiting time...it can get hectic setting up the makeup before the shoot, so please respect our makeup artists!
4. Ladies, it is best that you leave your purse at home...
PROVISIONS
1. Please eat before you come
2. We will provide water.
3. You may bring snacks and drinks if you wish.
4. We are poor student filmmakers so unfortunately we do not have enough budget to feed everyone every day. ONLY on really LONG days, we will provide food--little caesars pizza. If you wish to donate to the food cause that would be wonderful, but not required.
ON SET PROCEDURE
1. There will be alot of down time between shot setups. It is understandable that you may tune out and talk amongst your other zombie friends. This is acceptable, but please be sure you are aware of the film crew and pay attention to what is going on. When we are ready to roll, you need to be ready to go. Staying on your toes created for a faster, more efficient shoot.
2. You must listen to our designated "zombie supervisor" and/or director. If you are a problem on set, we will kick you out. We have spent much time and money on this project and are treating it in a professional manner.
3. Do not wander from the designated filming area.
4. Have Fun...or else =P
PS...yes this is alot to take in. But you have no idea how much we appreciate this!!!
PSS...The wrap party for Zone Zero is going to be AWESOME....just sayin. (all zombies are invited)

Audition/production Details--Zone Zero: Decampment
Raven Films is holding open auditions to fill in six new roles for the Zone Zero sequel. ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MH8sZJvw4yA ) <---Watch the original Zone Zero if you ahve not already.
The auditions will be December 1, 2, and 3,running from 6-9pm in PAC rehearsal studio 180.
We are aware that some theatre students may be involved in the tech run of "Women of Lockerbie". We may be holding a seperate auditioning day for those unable to attend the initial dates. Anyone interested but unable to attend please contact Samuel Sanchez Jr. at sxs011@gmail.com or ravenfilmsshsu@gmail.com
Due to the length of the script and level of logistics and coordination involved in this project we will be head starting production before the spring semester starts, beggining with a script reading on January 9, 2011, with the first day of shooting following the next day. Filming will halt after Saturday January 15, as SHSU Department of theatre begins their round of Auditions for the main season. We should be ready to begin filming the second unit on the weekend of the 29th of January.
The second unit of filming will primarily be weekend shoots, as we knock out the second act of the screenplay. By March we will be ready to begin the third unit of filming, which is scheduled to be filmed in no more than two weekends (6 days total of filming, including Friday evenings.) We are scheduling meticulously so that we can be completely finished with principle photography by April, and begin Post-production.
That being said, here are the CHARACTER BREAKDOWNS:
MELANIE
Outbreak survivor who crossed paths with Dan and Andy 7 months after the outbreak. Enthusiastic and positive, she tries her best to assist Dan in completing "the zombie movie" By the end of the film she takes up a real love for the process of filmmaking. Although not an awkward "fan girl" type, she does enjoy anime, and therefor uses a katana as he weapon against zombies. And yes, she does know how to use it well. A brunette is preferred for this role, however a very strong audition can enable a blonde to snag the part =)
JASON
Another survivor who partnered up with Melanie after the outbreak. A sports fanatic (Astros fan particularly), who happens to be a biology major. Very critical of others, and is a living example of the "realistic, not pessemistic" school of thought. Although an intellectual of sorts, he frequently disagrees with Dan, as well as the characters, and bumps heads with them throughout the story.
BENNETT (name subject to change)
A Hollywood movie producer who is looking for "the next big thing". He was once very well known in the industry, but has lost his edge. He comes to Huntsville to assist Dan in his "zombie movie" venture. Although a gentleman, he tends to be very pretentious, and subtly tries to take control of any given situation by smooth talking.
CRAIG
Leads a small band of elite private mercenaries for hire. Rugged, and bothered by his past, he is solely focused on "his mission" which is to keep Bennett, Dan, and the others alive until they complete the film and escape the zombie infested area.
ABBEY
A female mecenary in Craig's 'unit'. She is an excellent driver, and is a pro with a shotgun. She is the best at keeping cool in any situation, and is focused on 'the mission' but sometimes clashes with the young filmmakers in regard to the validity of the entire thing. She is not as masculine as you would initially think. Iron Chef Cat Cora is a good reference point.
SCOTT
Another member of Craig's 'unit' hired by Bennett. He is a sharpshooter, and enjoys sniping. Approaches things tactically, and is quick to trouble-shoot and problem solve.
Thank you all for your interest in Auditioning for Zone Zero: Decampment! This is gearing up to be the best Raven Films production yet--we have every intention of submitting this to some of the major festivals. If ever there was a time to be a part of a Raven project, this is it! We have really worked long and hard in preparing for this production(to give an indication, the first draft was written in May. The current final draft is the 7th draft)
I look foward to seeing you at the auditions. Good luck!
